holy shit dude this is beautiful, super effective background,

BONESofBURIED responds:

Yeah it's pretty sinister right

hot stuff as always, killer job with the perspective :^]

BONESofBURIED responds:

Thanks bro. Just trying something a little different

This is super gorgeous, awesome use of colour

I think making the hand/forearm larger would have really sold the perspective here, it looks like she has a tiny arm,

Your previously painterly stuff hasn't really been up my alley but I feel like you've really nailed it in this one, I think its the combo of solid lines and the paint texture, awesome stuff :^]

mogy64 responds:

ive been trying to mix things up to see what kind of results i can get with the paint ish stuff, this was an interesting result and im pretty happy with the end look. it was fun to work on as well so im hoping to do more like it in the future
im glad to hear you think its a step in the right direction, thank you!

Damn The Emoji Movie has some great promo art!

ZeTrystan responds:

HAHAHA, oh my, don't tell me that. :'D

The hatchy shading on this is A1

BONESofBURIED responds:

Thank you. I love hatching

I know artists hate the "this looks like" or the "this reminds me of" thing but this reminds me a lot of Viktor Miller-Gausa's work which is awesome. Dig the style a lot!

SmaugTheTerrible responds:

Don`t really know who is he, but thanks)

The styles groovy, I like the super saturated pink thing, but I think it would look even better if you made the lantern light-sourcier. It looks like it's on but it's not really highlighting anything, although the shadows indicate that it's a light source (?), so you should smack some highlights on everything around it, maybe even the ol' barely opaque yellow circle to make it pop.

Bittersoda responds:

That's a very valid point concerning the lantern. I had tried to make the light source vaguely coming from the direction of the trees (where the sun is supposedly hidden). But I think you're right about the lantern, so I'll add some more highlights. Thanks for the response!
